Planting day: Let her bloom with We Forest Earth

Forest Earth and Tweed Valley Flowers have joined forces on a local research project in the Tweed Valley, native species along the creek banks that link various properties. The aim is to improve the creek’s health and help it better withstand frequent flooding. Tweed Valley Flowers, a small cut flower business, depends on specific growing conditions for abundant blooms. This collaboration blends bush regeneration with flower farming, focusing on restoring habitats and introducing resilient native species that can be used in arrangements instead of exotics. By doing so, the project supports the business by reducing income loss from natural disasters. The ultimate goal is to boost biodiversity and create a stronger ecosystem that safeguards the creek’s health. On planting day, trees went into the ground, neighbours shared delicious home-grown mandarins, and the morning ended at the local café in Burringbar.
